Embedded World 2026: Edge AI Has Shifted to Deployment. Are You Ready?

Chris Rommel, EVP, Mark Fitzgerald, Director, and Joe Abajian, Analyst

March, 2026

Insights from Embedded World 2026 on how leading vendors are moving beyond components to deliver complete, secure, and scalable edge AI systems.

Edge AI has entered a new phase. Embedded World 2026 highlighted a shift toward execution, where deployable on-device AI, rising urgency around CRA readiness, and lifecycle security requirements are reshaping how embedded systems are built and evaluated. Vendors are no longer competing on components alone. They are being judged on their ability to deliver systems that can be deployed, secured, and sustained in production environments.

This VDC View defines what that shift means in practice. It examines where edge AI deployments are gaining traction, how regulatory pressure is influencing design and vendor selection, and why platform-level strategies are becoming critical to compete. It also highlights where leading vendors are investing and how offerings are evolving as the market moves toward production-scale AI at the edge.

What You’ll Learn:

  • Where edge AI deployments are gaining real traction
  • How CRA and security requirements are reshaping design decisions
  • Which vendors are best positioned and why
  • What platform strategies mean in practice

Featuring insights from Advantech, AMD, Ambarella, Arm, Cadence, Exein, Intel, MediaTek, NXP, Qualcomm, Silicon Labs, TASKING, Toradex, Tria, Wind River, and more.
